Licensing

Non-commercial users are free to download and use all software, source code and other resources under the terms of GPL.

Commercial users of the software provided by SoftwareMonkeys.net are required to purchase a negotiable license. (Reseller licences must be purchased within 14 days after resale.)
Commercial users also receive priority support, updates, and in-depth assistance in using the application and the code within their business and their own projects.

You can request a discount on any licenses (for charities, non or low profit organisations, ordering bulk quantities, or any other sincere and understandable reason). Discounts will be reviewed and negotiated based on each individual project.
Once you've decided the pricing structure for your business you can request and negotiate the licensing terms that fit your profit structure.

The following reasons are suitable for requesting discounts on your orders:

  • If you've customised any of the software provided by SoftwareMonkeys.net request a discount based on the extent of the changes.
  • If you share your improvements and customisations with the community (by sending to support@softwaremonkeys.net or posting on the forums).
  • If you've assisted in finding or fixing issues with anything related to SoftwareMonkeys.net and provided software.
  • If you've provided any other contributions to the community.
  • If you support the community by mentioning the SoftwareMonkeys.net software you use on your site or blog (ideally with a link).
  • If you're a new start-up and still can't afford to pay full license fees.
  • If you have any other good reason.

Definitions

To clear up any possible ambiguity about what the following terms are referring to here's a brief explanation:

  • Commercial - Anything that has the intent or result of gaining profit.
  • Service - Ongoing actions (by a human or computer) to provide or maintain software or resources to another user.
  • Redistribution - Customising or extending software then providing it (with or without code) to another commercial user.
  • Single installation - A single usable installation of software (as well as corresponding staging and local development installations). When enabling multiple installations in the same set of files (for streamlined installations), each installation is considered separate and requires another license for commercial users.
  • Developer - Anyone using SoftwareMonkeys.net software with the intent of interacting with the source code.

If you're using any of the code or software commercially from SoftwareMonkeys.net and aren't sure which license suits you, or you have a question, please contact sales@softwaremonkeys.net to discuss the options or negotiate a suitable license.
